Welcome to Simplicity and Investment Tips!

Hello everyone! Welcome to Simplicity and Investment Tips by Steady Steps. As this is the very first post on my blog, I’d like to introduce myself and share what kind of content you can expect here.

Starting something new always comes with a mix of excitement and nervousness. However, I firmly believe that the most important thing is to take steady steps forward. This blog is built on that philosophy, and I will be sharing my insights on long-term investing and simple living based on my personal experiences and learnings.

The Meaning Behind “Steady Steps”

The name Steady Steps represents the values I hold dear. One of the key inspirations behind this name is Warren Buffett, a legendary investor whose philosophy has profoundly influenced me. Buffett is not one to chase after short-term riches; instead, he believes in the power of time and consistent growth.

I deeply resonate with this approach. There is no need to rush or feel pressured. The key is to keep moving forward—step by step, steadily. And this principle applies not just to investing but to life itself. In this blog, I will emphasize the importance of a long-term perspective and a commitment to continuous learning.

How Japanese Simplicity Shaped My Perspective

Japan has a deep-rooted culture of simplicity and minimalism, emphasizing the beauty of reducing excess and making the most of what we have. The idea of valuing and repairing things instead of throwing them away is a concept embedded in traditional Japanese culture. However, in modern society, these values seem to be fading.

I must admit, I wasn’t always mindful of this philosophy. There was a time when I spent money carelessly and surrounded myself with unnecessary possessions. However, my perspective shifted dramatically when I lived in the U.S. for several years, from high school through graduate school.

Living in a different country allowed me to see my own culture from an outsider’s perspective. Things I once took for granted became more apparent, and I began to appreciate both the strengths and weaknesses of Japanese culture more objectively.

One of the turning points in my journey toward a simple and intentional lifestyle was when I applied the KonMari method to declutter my entire home. Organizing my physical space brought a surprising sense of mental clarity, allowing me to focus on what truly matters.

My personal philosophy revolves around leveraging simplicity as a source of strength. By eliminating unnecessary expenses and prioritizing quality over quantity, I have found a greater sense of fulfillment. I also believe that this lifestyle, in the long run, helps build wealth and leads to a more meaningful life.
